Blog Giveaway - Win This Vintage 40's Gold Butterfly Pendant!
In celebration of the beginning of Favourite Vintage Finds, I am giving away this vintage 40's gold butterfly pendant. This sweet pendant is silver-gilt (sterling silver coated with a fine layer of gold). It bears the 925 sterling silver stamp on the back and features a natural garnet gemstone. The garnet looks like a ruby. In excellent condition. Measures 1.2 cm across (half an inch).
I purchased a job lot of 16 of these pendants and they are one of my all time favourite vintage finds. Stored away for decades by their previous owner, they were sourced originally in England. Sometime before the end of the year, I will be giving away 1 more of these pendants. Other giveaways are planned for the future too, stay tuned...

Victorian Revival Splendour
This is my much-loved Victorian Revival Florenza cross pendant brooch combo. It is vintage 50's and antiqued goldtone with purple rhinestones.
Florenza made stunning Victorian and Renaissance style costume jewellery from the 1940's - 1981. Keep a look out for vintage Florenza pieces as they are highly unique, superbly crafted and pass as the real thing ;).
Sorelle Fontana Lace Illusion Dress
Three sisters formed Sorelle Fontana (sisters Fontana) in Rome in 1943. In the following years, the glamourous designs of Sorelle became much sort-after by European aristocracy and royalty. By the 1950's Sorelle Fontana was well-known in the United States. Their customers included Hollywood stars and famous women such as Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Kim Novak, and Jacqueline Kennedy.
I will be selling this dress in my ebay shop before the end of the year...stay tuned...
Looks 50's however the label says "export" and in 1960 Sorelle Fontana launched their ready-to-wear collection for the US market. The dress could possibly be from the first ready-to-wear collection.
