Your eyes are not playing tricks on you, this chair is orange, by green I mean eco-friendly. This chair is vintage 60's (with it's original fabric), and has a lot of character including some small holes in the fabric, and a not-so-small hole hidden by one of the shoulder covers. I've spruced it up by adding some fabulous vintage accents to it.
The shoulder covers were made by my wonderful Mum from vintage fabric. I purchased the cushion cover, also made from vintage fabric, from the online shop I purchased
my lounge cushion covers from,
William Morris Cushion Covers.
"Golden Lily Minor" vintage cotton fabric by Arthur Sanderson and Sons. (Original screenprint by William Morris).
"Warwick" vintage linen cotton mix fabric by Burgess Ledward.
I purchased this fab vintage wallpaper coaster from
Lark. I featured Lark
here last November.
Very cool chair! Visiting you from SITS and following you now too :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is simply awesome! I'd love to have a favorite chair re-covered, but the cat would just scratch it. SITS sent me by, and I'm glad they did!

Your blog rocks! I love all things vintage and my home is a hodge-podge of old and new. I think it adds so much dimension.
ReplyDeleteSITS sent me here and I am glad they did.
Gorgeous chair, I love how you spruced it up! I never got the chance to thank you for my lovely package, the items you put together for me are lovely! I blame my tardy thank you on lots of busy things going on right now, but as soon as life slows down a bit I'm thinking about making myself an apron and some lounge pants out of the vintage sheet you sent - I love the pattern! I hope all is well for you!

ReplyDeleteI love the shoulder accents. What a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteMy nana had a chair a bit like this one. She had it facing the fire so that when we visited we could cosy up. She'd wrap us in a blanket and make a pot of tea. If we were lucky she'd get the sweet tin out. Happy days!
ReplyDeleteI so love a blogger who loves COLOR!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jo
You are a bazillion times more creative than me.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS! Hope you have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I might need to dress up my hand-me-down and free furniture now!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair - my parents had a sofa covered in the green William Morris fabric, which I loved.
ReplyDeleteLove your green chair, dear! ;) It looks fantastic!
